Into the night: Street style at NZ Fashion Week's opening

New Zealand Fashion Week Kahuria opened on a high on Monday night, with the Into the Archives show celebrating three decades of local design.

Outside the venue at Shed 10 as the sun set over Tāmaki Makaurau's skyline, guests and the fashion crowd turned it on in their fashion week finest. Here's who photographer Abigail Dell'Avo spotted, and what they wore.

This New Zealand Fashion Week Kahuria, we’ll be sending out daily dispatches from the shows and surrounds, packed with personal field notes, observations, chats and some cameo appearances from friends of Ensemble.

This year we are putting a value on our work so most of it will be behind a paywall on Substack. We will still have ‘free’ stories on the website, be posting on Instagram (follow us here) and open up a Substack chat so everyone can join in (we see you non-Aucklanders!).

But if you’d like to read our personal thoughts and opinions on NZFW (promise it will be fun and not dry!), consider upgrading to a paid subscription for $7 a month or $75 a year - to access this story, and other paywalled content throughout the week, and support our work.

Creativity, evocative visual storytelling and good journalism come at a price. Support our work and join the Ensemble membership program
