We asked some of our favourite fashion friends to reveal the products, tools and little lifesavers they swear by when the fashion week runway (and after-party) calls. Consider this your beauty inspo for those times when your days run long and the nights even longer.
My hair scissors

They're like a decade old and have served me so well. Almost every fashion week I've ever been to has begun with a DIY fringe trim in a hotel bathroom. Nothing like freshly cut bangs to kick things off with a, well... bang. – Chloe Hill, photographer and stylist
Fenty Beauty Pro Filt'r Instant Retouch Primer, $62
If I know I’ve got a long day ahead of me, this is the first product I run for. An ironclad base is essential, especially if you know your lip combo/highlighter/eyeshadow’s got a tendency to get smudged away into the night. – Sophie Albornett, Ensemble intern

Tom Ford Runway Lip Colour in ‘West Coast’, $94
It’s just sexy. The perfect, opulent shade that makes me feel like a million bucks, even when I have nothing else on my face. – Estelle Schuler, stylist
Mecca Max Zoom Shadow Stick Matte in ‘Plum’, $22
My go-to when I need to make more of an effort with makeup – like for our Meadowlark screening of 80s cult sci-fi Liquid Sky as part of the Ensemble Fashion Film Festival. I roughly draw it on and blend with a brush and it doesn't move all day and night. It's a bit of a dramatic look but it's the only one I do these days. I usually finish it off with a red mascara! – Claire Hammon, co-founder of Meadowlark

BareMinerals Complexion Rescue, $73; Clinique Almost Lipstick in Black Honey, $58; Zambesi 1979 Parfum, $275
After I've hydrated (wetness is the essence of beauty) my dry, parched skin – a fool's errand after a winter of too-hot showers and too-scant skincare – the only things I'll be wearing on it are Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue, Clinique Almost Lipstick in Black Honey and not-one-but-two spritzes of Zambesi 1979 Parfum. I can't deal with anything more complicated than that, and frankly, don't want to. None of them require a mirror, and all make you feel exactly like yourself, which is the coolest thing to be at fashion week. – Emma Gleason, writer and broadcaster
The Saem Cover Perfection Triple Pot Concealer in 01 Correct Beige, $16
I'm obsessed with this colour correcting trio – one swipe of the peach shade to hide my dark under-eyes is all I need to convince everyone (and myself) that I've had 8+ hours of sleep each night. – Courtney Joe, stylist
Tower 28 Daily Rescue Facial Spray, $55
Fashion Week is a marathon, not a sprint and my non-negotiable is the Tower 28 Daily Rescue Facial Spray from Mecca. One spritz over my makeup and my skin feels instantly soothed, hydrated and ready to head to the next show. – Troi Atkins, content creator and stylist

Systane Lubricating Eye Drops, $19
Keeping my eyes hydrated is essential, and I have been using these religiously to keep my vision clear. If my eyes are dry, I am out. I have to have them with me all the time. – Levi Tan, stylist
Emma Lewisham Supernatural Sleeping Mask, $132
I use this regularly but it really comes into its own during the late nights of fashion week. It has lots of skin-loving ingredients like hyaluronic acid, ceramides and gentle AHA/BHAs, and feels and smells divine. It works while you sleep so it’s lazy girl beauty that I prefer. It’s the closest I've found to erasing the evidence of a 1am bedtime (rare these days but still possible). – Zoe Walker Ahwa, Ensemble editor

Lancôme L'Absolu Rouge in ‘01 Bad Blood Ruby, $76 (similar shades here)
A bright lip colour is always my go to when I'm short on time – I’ll wear a fun, bright lip and feel like I have a 'put together' beauty look! My current favourite is Lancôme L'Absolu Rouge, a perfect 'red' tone to brighten up a classic outfit. – Kathryn Wilson, footwear designer
Aesop's Resolute Body Balm, $57
My beauty essential (always!). It's one of my favourite scents ever, and I wear it everyday. I like to keep a 100mL tube in my bag at all times as I get very dry skin during the colder months, and the scent is a welcome respite from the overwhelm of fashion week. It's a nice way to stay smelling like myself, without having to lug around a perfume. – Isabelle Carson, showroom and PR account manager at Showroom 22
