Ensemble: a group of items viewed as a whole rather than individually, and a set of clothes chosen to harmonise when worn together.
Founded in August 2020 by Zoe Walker Ahwa and Rebecca Wadey, Ensemble was an NZ-based independent platform dedicated to thoughtful, inclusive storytelling. We built a community that valued honest editorial, sharp social commentary and joyful IRL events - without the influence of corporate agendas or clickbait culture. Ensemble closed in October 2025.
Ensemble was for people of purpose who wanted to read about world issues as much as they do beautiful, well-made clothing. We covered fashion, personal style, beauty, wellbeing, women's health, culture, pop culture and the people shaping our times, with the guiding ethos 'For both intelligence and whimsy'.
