Inside our exclusive preview screenings of Triangle of Sadness

Last week Ensemble hosted preview screenings of the Oscar-nominated film Triangle of Sadness.

In Tāmaki Makaurau on Tuesday night, Ensemble’s biggest supporters and dearest friends including designers Karen Walker, Kate Sylvester, Juliette Hogan and Papa Clothing’s Keva Rands mixed with contributors, stylists, photographers, Ensemble Members and more at the Hollywood cinema in Avondale, mingling in the newly renovated garden bar drinking Aperol Spritz on the final evening of summer.

The next night we headed to Wellington, where we were joined by some capital-based contributors and supporters including Jessie Wong of Yu Mei, James Dobson of Jimmy D, Anjali and Rachel of Twenty-seven Names, designer James Bush, stylist Chloe Hill, poet Tayi Tibble and illustrator Bonnie Brown aka Studio Bon.

Ruben Östlund’s hilariously dark, scathing satire of class, beauty and capitalism was the laughter therapy we all needed after a heavy few weeks. Although at several points the laughter became more awkward - were we laughing at the joke, or were we indeed the joke?

Triangle of Sadness is out March 9 and is certainly a film that deserves to be seen with a crowd. Hugest thanks to our audience for making it such an incredible, wild cinematic experience.
