The welcome carpet and lighting was a distinctive shade of purple for Emma Lewisham’s takeover of the National Art School in Sydney’s Darlinghurst earlier this week, with the NZ beauty brand hosting a celebratory bash that included an acoustic live performance from Florence + The Machine (the singer wore a glorious vintage green 1930s coat and pink slip dress).
Lewisham herself, in white oversized tailoring by P Johnson Femme, visited Australia earlier this week to host the party with her team, including her Sydney-based head of PR and brand partnerships Liam Sharma – a way to celebrate their “friends and family” over the ditch, and mark the brand’s official launch across Mecca Australia.
It was a typically well-dressed crowd of Sydney creatives in attendance, including writer and journalist Elfy Scott, actor and writer Nakkiah Lui, models Jessica Gomes, Jennifer Atilémile, Victoria Lee and Gabriella Brooks, Heidi Middleton (of Sass & Bide fame; she now has a brand called Artclub) – with support from some stylish Sydney-based Kiwis including photographer and stylist Rob Tennent and Sutram founder Kate Fowler.
